Irwan Ahmett and Tita Salina – Deleting Memory opening at Pop Recs Ltd

14 November 5-7pm
Venue: Pop Recs Ltd, 51 Fawcett Street, Sunderland, SR1 1RS.

Join us this Thursday for the opening of  ’Deleting Memory’ an exhibition of work created by Tita Salina, Irwan Ahmett and 10 residents of Sunderland.  Tita and Irwan will introduce the project and also launch a small urban game for Sunderland! Free refreshments, all welcome and booking is not required.

In their new project Deleting Memory commissioned for The Social: encountering photography, Indonesian-based artists Irwan Ahmett and Tita Salina set out to explore the relationship between the city and its citizens. Using photography as their primary device, they seek to uncover and playfully intervene in everyday patterns of memory. As visitors to Sunderland, they have invited 10 residents to work with them in a process of swapping and deleting photographic memories of the city.

Exhibition runs 15 Nov-24 Nov.

Supported by the Ford Foundation and NEPN.
